En perdition chez Dark Horse, les titres Valiant vont faire leur retour sous la direction de Peter Cuneo, ancien ponte chez Marvel en 2012 aux formats papier et numérique avec des titres comme XO Manowar et Bloodshot.

Valiant Entertainment, the character-based entertainment company with more than 1,500 characters in its library, announced it will reintroduce the critically acclaimed Valiant Universe in print and digital comics in 2012. Valiant has hired accomplished industry executives and creative talent to expand its management team. The first announcement is that former Marvel CEO and Vice Chairman Peter Cuneo has assumed the role of Chairman of Valiant.

Valiant Entertainment, co-founded by Jason Kothari and Dinesh Shamdasani, has received a capital infusion from private investment company Cuneo & Company, LLC. Peter Cuneo, Managing Principal of Cuneo & Co., recently concluded ten years of leadership at Marvel Entertainment, which achieved one of the most extraordinary turnarounds in entertainment history during that period. His tenure with Marvel concluded with Marvel’s sale at the end of 2009 to The Walt Disney Company for over $4 billion. Gavin Cuneo, Principal of Cuneo & Co., was an investment banker with Bank of America Merrill Lynch prior to the founding of Cuneo & Co. He has spent over ten years working in investment banking and investment management and has been appointed to Valiant’s Board of Directors. Peter and Gavin Cuneo are working closely with Valiant’s expanded management team to usher in the new era of Valiant.

“I am excited to be partnering with Peter and Gavin,” said CEO Jason Kothari. “Peter’s decade of leadership at Marvel, Gavin’s decade of experience on Wall Street, and their highly active roles with Valiant will be integral to our expansion.”

“The strength of the management team which Jason has created and the quality of the characters owned and controlled by the company have made this an extremely attractive and exciting investment,” said Peter Cuneo.

“We see a great opportunity in today’s comic book industry for the emergence of a brand that combines the power of a strong legacy with a first-class creative and business team,” said Gavin Cuneo.

Originally founded in 1989, Valiant Comics quickly became one of the most successful comic book publishers by creating unique and compelling heroes and villains and focusing on storytelling. Valiant characters have been written and illustrated by many of the industry’s most famous creative talents, including Jim Shooter, Bob Layton, Barry Windsor Smith, Joe Quesada, Jim Lee, Frank Miller, Garth Ennis, Warren Ellis, Bryan Hitch, Steve Ditko, Mike Mignola and Neal Adams, among many others. Previously named Publisher of the Year by Diamond Comics Distributors, Valiant characters have sold over 80 million comic books. After creating some of the most popular comic book characters, Valiant was acquired by video game company Acclaim Entertainment. Acclaim used the characters as the basis for a number of successful video game franchises. Acclaim went out of business in 2005 due to issues unrelated to Valiant, including the loss of key sports video game licenses. This enabled Valiant Entertainment to acquire all the rights to the Valiant Comics library at the end of 2007. Valiant Entertainment began operations in 2008 and has made significant progress in the licensing and development of major motion pictures that will be communicated in the coming months. Valiant now expands into publishing.

Hell yeah,amen to this,deja bloodshot je pense a un film soit a uen refonte du titre avec le passé et le present Rai et Bloodshot ca serait un bon début mais sil ils relancent X-o c'est tout bon .

Le soucis c'st que c'est classic media qui a vendu (cédé?) les droits de Turok,Solar et magnus et le soucis avec X-O et les autres titres c'est l'univers partagé ,a mon humble avis seul le rachat de ces 3 titres pourraient relancer Valiant et la relancer en tpb les unity et la suite des histoire deja sorti en tpb .

i ils doivent relancer X-o donc tpb 2 ca doit passer par la case unity et impossible d'y couper dans ce cas .et pour relancer Unity faut avoir Solar et pour rai il y a un lien avec Magnus (lié directement a harbinger et a unity ) .

Un sacré b..... donc sans ces 3 licences c'est mort d'avance meme si on fait un récap (it's magic a la quesada ou c'est un reve !) .Les fans de l'univers ne vont pas se contenter de ces explications c'est tout ou rien .

Mais c'est un pas en avant ,j'avais commenc a en parler sur mon blog sans conviction ni espoir car je pense que c'est mort né le projet malheureusement comme a la sortie des tpb .Pour rappel A and Armstrong est sorti en 2008 depuis plus rien et plus de news du site qui a changé recemment la date (2010 ===>2011,puis l'image de Bloodshot) et on on voit en bas nannites at work ce qui peut laisser présager soit d'un film ou de faire un tpb sur ce personnage qui est quand meme "secondaire" dans l'univers Valiant .

Pour commencer Valiant, il faudrait prendre quoi ?

Archer and Armstrong,Shadowman, harbinger,X-O ,Magnus Solar et Turok en singles .Unity en singles également pour voir l'impact du crossover sur les series.

Il y a 3 tpb de dispo depuis 2006 X-o,Harbinger et A et A .Pas trop cher et trouvables il me semble.

Il a dessiné quoi, Jim Lee chez Valiant?

A moins que l'auteur de l'article pensait au crossover Deathmate avec Image et qu'il ait donc fait un raccourci...facile (et "vendeur")

Je ne parle pas d'Unity pour ne pas spoiler les futurs et eventuels acheteurs en back issus ,mais commencer par Unity est un bon point de départ .

Mais c'est une p^$ù* de good news qui déchire sa race de geekometre,mais bon sang de bois que je suis happy today !Deja une bonne raison de prendre ce FCBD
C'est X-O,en regardant bien l'image et en réfléchissant un petit peu (ca m'arrive pas souvent:D) je vois un élément qui me fait vibrer la de suite,c'est l'épée,l'épée c'est bien Aric sous l'armure,Aric !!!!

Meme si c'est un reboot ou rebouch ou atre je prends d'emblée et je remercie les gars de Valiant d'avoir gardé le personnage original ,voyons voir Bloodsht et Harbinger si c'est du meme accabit faut foncez,20 ans que j'attends ca c'est phénoménal et magique.

Merci Valiant d'avoir écouté les fans et d'avoir fait les choses comme il se doit 2012 sera l'année Valiant je le sens bien !
