Caitlin started writing novels at age 13. Her first was a Star Wars tie-in. Fortunately, she branched out from there and after a few years trying to be a screenwriter, a comic book writer and the author of copious amounts of fanfiction, she tried to write a novel again. Her epic dark fantasy (thankfully) never saw the light of day but while she was struggling with elves and sorcerers she got the idea of writing a story about a werewolf who fought crime. Two years and many, many drafts later, she pitched Night Life to a bevy of agents and one of them, Rachel Vater, sold the series to St. Martin’s. Caitlin collects comic books, print books, vintage clothes, and bad habits. She loves tea, loud music, the color black (especially mixed with the color pink) and ghost stories. She can drive a stick shift, play the violin and knows more English curses than American ones. Caitlin lives in Olympia, WA with two pushy cats.
Summary: This volume of the hit anthology series features everything from Doctor Fate to Cheetah! Even Wonder Woman sometimes needs a vacation—and after a vicious battle, Batman sends her to an idyllic mountain town for some R&R. But the countryside isn’t quite as peaceful as advertised when Solomon Grundy shows up! Fox was an attorney who began his prolific and innovative second career as a writer in the late 1930s on Batman and went on to create such Golden Age classics as the original Flash, Hawkman, Starman, Doctor Fate, and the Justice Society of America. His influence extended throughout the 1950s and 1960s when, until his retirement from DC Comics in 1968, he created and/or wrote such memorable features as the Justice League of America, Adam Strange, the Atom, Hawkman, and, of course, Batman, all under the auspices of legendary comics editor Julius Schwartz. Until his death in 1986, Gardner Fox continued writing comics and novels. Born in 1914 in Cleveland, OH, Jerome Siegel was, as a teenager, a fan of the emerging literary genre that came to be known as science fiction. Together with schoolmate Joe Shuster, Siegel published several science fiction fan magazines, and in 1933 they came up with their own science fiction hero—Superman. Siegel scripted and Shuster drew several weeks’ worth of newspaper strips featuring their new creation, but garnered no interest from publishers or newspaper syndicates. It wasn’t until the two established themselves as reliable adventure-strip creators at DC Comics that the editors at DC offered to take a chance on the Superman material—provided it was re-pasted into comic book format for DC’s new magazine, Action Comics.
Siegel wrote the Adventures of Superman (as well as other DC heroes, most notably the Spectre, his co-creation with Bernard Baily) through 1948 and then again from 1959-1966, in the interim scripting several newspaper strips including Funnyman and Ken Winston. Jerry Siegel died in January, 1996.
Summary: When the last son of Krypton was sent to Earth, one of the greatest legends of all time was born. This edition collects some of the earliest tales of Superman as they were first published. Written and drawn by his creators, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, included here are the orginal first appearances of Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Superman’s alter ego Clark Kent, as well as the Man of Steel’s first use of his x-ray vision.

Contributor Bio:
In the years since his entry into the indie film community, Kevin Smith has seen it all—from the surprise critical and commercial success he received for his debut film Clerks to the disappointing critical and commercial drubbing he took on his second outing, Mallrats. He caught a break on his third film, the critically hailed Chasing Amy, and managed not to get killed by the religious zealots over his fourth film, the comedic meditation Dogma. Thus not deterred, Smith advanced and has written and directed Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Zach and Miri Make A Porno.
He’s written comic books featuring not only his own characters (Clerks and Jay and Silent Bob), but other characters as well—the award-winning Daredevil at Marvel Comics, and the award-winning Green Arrow and Batman at DC Comics.
Summary: The original Green Arrow, Oliver Queen, reemerges after years of being assumed dead. But many people, including Black Canary, his ex-lover, Arsenal, his ex-partner, Connor Hawke, his son and temporary successor and Batman, the Dark Knight Detective, want to know how Green Arrow survived the airplane explosion and where he has been. Using strong characterization and engaging dialogue, comics and screenplay writer and movie director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Dogma, Batman: Cacophony) successfully resurrects one of the world’s classic heroes.
This graphic novel collects Smith’s now-classic run on the title Green Arrow #1-15.

One of the most prolific and influential writers in modern comics, Marv Wolfman began his career as an artist. Realizing that his talents lay more in writing the stories than in drawing them, Wolfman soon became known for his carefully crafted, character-driven tales. In a career that has spanned nearly 30 years, Wolfman has helped shape the heroic careers of DC Comics’ Green Lantern, Blackhawk and the original Teen Titans, as well as Marvel Comics’ Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and Nova. In addition to co-creating The New Teen Titans and the universe-shattering Crisis on Infinite Earths with George Pérez, Wolfman was instrumental in the revamp of Superman after Crisis, the development of The New Teen Titans spinoff series Vigilante, Deathstroke The Terminator and Team Titans, and created such characters as Blade for Marvel, along with Night Force and the retooled Dial “H” For Hero for DC. In addition to his numerous comic book credits, Wolfman has also written several novels and worked in series television and animation, including the Superman cartoon of the late 1980s and currently the hit Teen Titans show on Cartoon Network. His novelization of Crisis on Infinite Earths was published in the spring of 2005 by iBooks.

Edmond Hamilton came to comics from science fiction pulp magazines, for which he was the creator of grand space operas such as “The Star Kings” and classic short stories like the intense, introspective “What’s It Like Out There?” He created Captain Future for pulp editor Mort Weisinger in 1939 and, upon moving to DC Comics in 1941, Weisinger offered Hamilton work on comics scripts. Hamilton quickly became a major Superman writer. In addition, he wrote Tommy Tomorrow features for ACTION COMICS and classic stories for DC editor Julius Schwartz’s science fiction comics.
In 1952, Hamilton teamed Superman and Batman in “The Mightiest Team in the World” (SUPERMAN #76), a story he conceived as a minor one-shot adventure. Editor Jack Schiff soon made the Superman-Batman team a regular feature in WORLD’S FINEST, where Hamilton wrote the majority of stories until 1966. In other Batman, Superman, and Legion of Super-Heroes stories, Hamilton introduced such memorable characters as Batwoman, the Composite Superman, Element Lad, Dream Girl, Timber Wolf, and Brainiac 5.
Hamilton retired from comics in 1966 and lived with his wife, Leigh Brackett (a science-fiction novelist and screenwriter whose credits include The Big Sleep and The Empire Strikes Back), until his death in 1977.
Summary: Superman and Batman first teamed up in these stories from comics’ Golden Age, reprinted here for the first time in one massive hardcover. In these tales, which feature frequent guest stars Robin, Lois Lane, Commissioner Gordon and Perry White, the two heroes battle crime in the past, present and future, including each other’s greatest foes: Lex Luthor and The Joker!

Partir juste pour 16 pages, ça me paraît "léger".
