Given that her character was heavily redesigned for the film, it will be interesting to see if her background remains the same. We tracked it at a high sale of $153 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $19. #9: ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 | MARVEL | 2011 | Since 2020, Miles Morales has been the subject of many casting rumors. The idea that a live-action film could be in development down the line has helped this book remain on the hot list. In addition to these long-time rumors, Miles is gearing up to be the spotlight Spider-Man for the next couple of months. Additionally, Marvel has announced the next major event to hit comic books, Ultimate Invasion. In this event, we will see the return of the ultimate universe and the alternate version of Reed Richards, The Maker, who also made his official debut in this issue. We tracked it at a high sale of 110%, with a high sale of $2,040 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $525. #8: BLUE BOOK #1 – DAVE JOHNSON – VIRGIN (1:10) | DARK HORSE | 2023 | James Tynion IV's projectsalways bring in loads of fans. His most recent endeavor focuses on a couple who claim to have been abducted in 1961. It's a phenomenal dive into real-life events painted in the colors of exciting comic panels. The retailer incentive has already been gaining a ton of traction. We tracked it at a high sale of $15 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $11. #7: SUPERMAN / BATMAN #8 | DC | 2004 | As fans continue to anticipate the rebirth of the DCEU, they are still picking up the reintroduction of Kara Zor-El. While rumors of Keaton returning as Batman circulated the internet for quite some time, Kara Zor-El's appearance was a surprise. This was a delight to experience, as most movies are usually plagued with tons of leaks and leave little room for surprises. This version of Kara does not quite match up to the appearance of her comic book counterpart. However, there is speculation that Gunn has bigger ideas for Kara in the future of the DCEU. We tracked it at a high sale of $46 for a raw copy and a VF FMV of $24. #6: AVENGERS #267 | MARVEL | 1986 | *ANT-MAN & THE WASP: QUANTAMANIA SPOILERS* | Kang has been rumored as the big bad of Phase 5 since the end of Phase 4. QUANTAMANIA revealed Kang's terrifying presence and gave a post-credit look at the entirety of the Council of Kangs. Additionally, the main Kang of the movie was seemingly killed off. If this is true, the storyline runs similarly to this comic. This issue includes the death of a Kang variant, which had killed the Avengers in a previous storyline. Two years ago, an NM raw copy of this book was selling for $2-$6. This past week, we tracked it at a high sale of $300 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw VF FMV of $34. #5: SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #1 | BOOM! STUDIOS | 2019 | SIKTC is finally getting a live adaptation! There have been rumors circulating for quite some time, but there is confirmation that the series will officially be adapted at Netflix. Since 2021, fans have greatly anticipated hearing this news announced and have responded accordingly with a sudden uptick in aftermarket interest. We tracked it at a high sale of $954 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $172. #4: AVENGERS ANNUAL #21 | MARVEL | 1992 | *ANT-MAN & THE WASP: QUANTAMANIA SPOILERS* | Aside from the debut of the Council of Kangs, another post-credit scene debuted another Kang variant, Victor Timely. This was a direct link from QUANTUMANIA to Loki season 2. In the comics, Victor Timely was a powerful corporate mogul. He was previously a 21st-century version of Kang but decided to time travel to the early 20th century for personal conquest. In this timeline, he crates Chronopolis, a headquarters for all the Kang variants. Will Loki season 2 deal with this time crossroads? Only time will tell. We tracked it at a high sale of $285 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw VF FMV of $18. #3: ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #1 | MARVEL | 2004 | It was recently announced that Jonathan Hickman and Bryan Hitch are teaming up for a new comic series, Ultimate Invasion. This will be a major comic event for Marvel, focusing on Miles Morales and The Maker. It's unclear if The Maker will be a force for good or evil, but the event brings back the Ultimate Universe in some capacity. The Maker is an alternate Reed Richards from the Ultimate universe, first appearing in this issue of Ultimate Fantastic Four #1. However, Richards' official first appearance as The Maker is in a little book called Ultimate Fallout #4, which (as you know) shares the first appearance of Miles Morales (Ultimate Reed Richards is also on the Djurdjevic 1:25 variant cover for UF#4 (pre-Maker)). The fact that this upcoming series is centered around both these characters is appropriate, seeing that their first introductions are intertwined. Yet, when it comes down to it, Ultimate Fantastic Four is when it all starts. We tracked it at a high sale of $75 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $8. #2: VAULT OF SPIDERS #1 | MARVEL | 2018 | Across the Spider-Verse is set to debut the largest number of spider variants ever to hit the big screen. Among all these variants, a handful of variants debuted as funko pops. One of those pops was Spider-Byte. Although her appearance was heavily altered, fans still picked up copies of her first appearance. We tracked it at a high sale of $199 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $25. #1: DEADLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #5 – JUAN FERREYRA – REGULAR | MARVEL | 2023 | This issue shows another new spider character, the captivating Dream Spider. Crystal Catawnee was first introduced in DEADLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #1. She was an ambitious scientist and explorer, and crystal was imbued with superhuman strength and agility through a mystic stone. This stone's powers have barely begun to be explored and create multiple branches for future storylines with the character. We tracked it at a high sale of $30 for a raw copy and a VF FMV of $3.

Many read that headline and thought, "Yeah, that sounds cool." That is until they read further and discovered it would be in the style of God of War. The community collectively said, "Yes, please," returning to this first issue that started that epic narrative to understand better what this game would be about. To all the Turtles fans, COWABUNGA, it's a good time to be a fan! We tracked it at a high sale of $500 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $60. #9: DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: SATURDAY MORNING ADVENTURES #1 – TIM LEVINS – COVER C | IDW | 2023 | IDW tapped into some serious nostalgia with their Saturday Morning Adventure series. Adapting the likes of TMNT, G.I. Joe, and, you guessed it, Dungeons & Dragons. Some may be too young to remember, but in the later 80s, kids religiously tuned into this beloved animated series. Well, this book taps into that nostalgia, adapting a lost episode of the original show with the style it was known for front and center on the cover. It doesn't hurt there is a feature D&D release in theaters to help drive interest to this hard-to-find comic! We tracked it at a high sale of $70 for a raw copy and a VF FMV of $20. #8: DCEASED: WAR OF THE UNDEAD GODS #7 – BEN OLIVER – HOMAGE | DC | 2023 | While it didn't retain its top spot, it still holds strong on our Top Ten. Ben Oliver brought the HEAT when he put pen to paper and brought to life a phenomenal homage to the Purple Rain album cover featuring Batman and Harley Quinn. While Batgirl #40 (2015) and Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow #19 knocked out the homage, they tend to be a bit pricey. Fans viewed it as an opportunity to pounce on this more affordable cover, making it rain on the aftermarket as we tracked it at a high sale of $15 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $8. #7: STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI – JABBA'S PALACE #1 – ALEX MALEEV (1:25) | MARVEL | 2023 | This book features a mysterious first appearance of Sylvan Khan, an enemy of Jabba the Hutt. While the future for the character remains a mystery, fans were all over this Maleev 1:25 variant featuring a stunning depiction of Boba Fett. He made a name for himself in Return of the Jedi and is celebrating his 40th anniversary with a slate of books like this. The fandom always loves a good Bobba cover! We tracked it at a high sale of $49 for a raw copy and a VF FMV of $19. #6: NO/ONE #1 – GERALDO BORGES – REGULAR | IMAGE | 2023 | This book has received a ton of hype since it was announced, even more so now that it's released. Kyle Higgens developed a massive fanbase with his Radiant Black series and, along with Brian Buccellato, appears to be doing so again with this book. Featuring murders, vigilantes, copycat killers, and a heavy dose of mystery, the fanbase is intrigued by this original story. Combine that with heavyweights like Patton Oswalt and Rachael Leigh Cook attached to the project via an in-universe podcast, and you have a very active aftermarket! We tracked it at a high sale of $20 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $16. #5: HARLEY QUINN #28 – DAN MORA (1:25) | DC | 2023 | The community sure does love a good Harley Quinn cover, and that's precisely what they got with this Mora 1:25 variant. Mora has developed quite a crowd of supporters with his work on recent Batman books, and fans have grown to love his depiction of Harley. We tracked it at a high sale of $40 for a raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $34. #4: AVENGERS ISSUE #52 | MARVEL | 1968 | Multiple sources report that actor Demetrius Grosse has joined the cast of Disney +'s WONDER MAN series, playing the role of Marvel's Grim Reaper. As you may know, the Grim Reaper is the brother of Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man, who will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Candyman, Watchmen, The Matrix Resurrections). In this issue, the Grim Reaper's first appearance is nice and tidy (with a cover appearance as well). This book is already on the move. We tracked it at a high sale of $1,200 for a CGC 9.6 and a current raw NM FMV of $225. #3: DRAGONLANCE #1 | DC | 1988 | As recently reported, "Joe Manganiello is developing a Dungeons & Dragons television show." While the first traditional comic appearance began with this 1988 series, it was preceded by these three 1987 to 1988 graphic novels. It's interesting to see if this news affects either of these early/first comic appearances, as news of this series has yet to receive a significant press rollout. We'll keep an eye on it as fans are getting their fill of D&D at the theatre, which appears to be tracking well with audiences. We tracked it at a high sale of $40 for an NM+ raw copy and a current NM FMV of $25. #2: MEET THE SKRULLS #1 | MARVEL | 2019 | It was back in August 2022 when the solicitation for Secret Invasion dropped on Disney+ to go with a release date of Spring 2023. We touched on it then, detailing reports of a group infiltrating Shield and other agencies for years. Many rumors were swirling about who Emilia Clarke would play at the time, and most speculated she would be playing G'iah, who first appeared in this book. Well, they were on to something, as Vanity Fair recently confirmed she will be playing the character! We tracked it at a high sale of $200 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $21. #1: THE TERRIFICS #1 | DC | 2018 | James Gunn, you sly devil. Recently, he posted of photo on Twitter featuring the characters that make up The Terrifics. Primarily known as an analog of the Fantastic Four, the team is comprised of Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho, Plastic Man, and Phantom Girl. This has led fans to speculate they could be the next characters adapted in his all-new DCU. Fans immediately went to the aftermarket to secure a copy of their first appearance, pushing this book to the top spot! Keep in mind that this is still in no way a confirmation. Retailers were asked to destroy the misprinted copies. However, seeing that many found their way to the aftermarket, it's clear that most have not done so. The exact number of error copies is unknown (yet, Covrt A appears plentiful). The affected covers include Cover A, Cover D (Sienkiewicz), and the Aaron Bartling CBNS exclusive. To identify an error copy, look at the dead body at the bottom of Cover A. If you are unable to see it, you have an error copy. The official debut of the first issue was rescheduled to this week. We'll see how this week's release affects the desirability of the recalled issue! We tracked it at a high sale of $26 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $23. Though, online sellers are blasting copies out in bulk for lower prices. #9: MARVEL PREMIERE #12 | MARVEL | 1973 | Most people are looking forward to big announcements from the MCU revolving around Secret Wars, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. Most curiosity has been around the more prominent elements of the MCU. However, we still have a fantastic Disney+ series to look forward to, like the Agatha: Coven of Chaos series currently in the works. During an interview last week, actress Patti LuPone revealed that she will play Lilia Calderu. Lilia first debuted in this issue as Queen of the Gypsies. This small piece of information was enough to send this issue flying into the top ten! We tracked it at a high sale of $90 for a CGC 9.2 copy and a raw FN FMV of $15. #8: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #31 | MARVEL | 1965 | This June, we are approaching the 50th anniversary of Gwen Stacy's death in comics. Marvel PR has focused its promotions on reminding readers of this significant event. This event is getting so much press because of an upcoming event set to be revealed in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #26. The issue is advertised as the "most shocking issue of Amazing Spider-Man in fifty years." As we continue getting advertisements referencing Gwen Stacy's death, fans have revisited Gwen Stacy's first appearance. Harry Osborn and Miles Warren's (Jackal) first appearances are alongside Gwen! Not to mention that Spider-Gwen fans are finally acknowledging her VERY first appearance, giving it the long-overdue boost it deserved after springing forth one of the more popular Spider variants. We tracked it at a high sale of $1,176 for a CGC 7.5 copy and a raw VG FMV of $369. #7: STAR WARS: YODA #6 – TAKASHI OKAZAKI (1:25) | MARVEL | 2023 | Fans of Yoda have been fighting for the chance to own this phenomenal cover of the Jedi master. Okazaki proves his masterful talent by illustrating Yoda in a formidable yet composed stance. His lightsaber provides a color light source that illuminates the inked art piece with hues of green. Okazaki takes inspiration from his previous covers and gives Yoda the same trademark style Okazaki used through his STAR WARS: VISIONS covers. It is safe to say that this was a hit! We tracked it at a high sale of $103 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $53. #6: MARVEL SUPER-HEROES SECRET WARS #8 | MARVEL | 1984 | Stemming from a different version of Eddie Brock, the infamous Venom symbiote, has already debuted in the MCU. The interdimensional alien goo plays a prominent role in the origin of Spider-Man's black suit. In the original comic storyline, the symbiote debuted during the events of the Secret Wars. With a similarly titled MCU film in production, many collectors are banking on the forthcoming debut of the symbiote suit on this cover! We tracked it at a high sale of $880 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw VF FMV of $203. #5: STAR WARS: THE HIGH REPUBLIC #5 | MARVEL | 2021 | While Ahsoka may have taken the spotlight for the past few weeks, many Star Wars projects are currently underway. One of those projects is Disney+'s The Acolyte. The Acolyte is being marketed as a mystery thriller focusing on the emergence of the dark side during the last days of the High Republic. Earlier this month, Star Wars Twitter officially confirmed that Rebecca Henderson would play Vernestra Rwoh in the series. Her first full appearance is pulling in tons of heat! We tracked it at a high sale of $67 for a CGC 9.8 copy with a raw NM FMV of $11. #4: MARVELS VOICES SPIDER-VERSE #1 – JOHN GIANG | MARVEL | 2023 | Along with the amazing cover, this book introduces two new spider characters, Recluse and Spider-Friend. Many collectors were interested in securing a copy due to the recent popularity of Spider-Boy and the potential future of these new characters. Whether these characters will have a prominent role in the future of the spider-verse is unknown.
