Bon, eh bien... le constat est terrible : Valiant a probablement le meilleur taux de bonnes/très bonnes/excellentes séries par série produite.
Et pourtant, ce sont celles que je vends le moins. Mini-séries, arcs complet, Ns° 1... on est très loin des ventes du même genre en Image (je ne parle même pas des Big 2), et en Dark Horse, IDW ou même D.E (avec une qualité souvent inférieure!) Donc, après 3 ans de mises en avant et de commandes sans résultats, tant pis: presque-adieu Valiant. J'espère que de nombreux retailers ne seront pas obligés d'en faire autant... |

moi pour ma part, je fais tout en VF aveuglément et je ne suis jamais déçu. C'est vraiment un bon univers qui bichonne ses lecteurs.

Merci pour le bon souvenir Legends of the Geomancer....
Sinon je reste très bon client de l'éditeur, il n'y a que les Doctor Mirage que j'ai laissé tomber. A&A a su trouver de nouvelles hauteurs, Faith est très revigorant, Divinity II a su donner du volume à la première mini, Ninjak et Eternal Warrior sont des séries qui récompensent sur le moyen terme ceux qui s'y accrochent. Un peu déçu de la fin de Imperium mais j'attends la reprise de Harbinger avec impatience, même si j'ai le même avis que JB sur Generation Zero. |

le A&A #5 est juste excellent (critique ce soir ou demain, pour la peine), à lire avant Faith #1.
Je pense que Valiant n'a pas pris en France. Les lecteurs sont assez frileux et ont du mal à sortir de leurs habitudes (Big Two, franchises et gros noms comme chez image) |

Bon, admettons que ces raisons soient majoritairement bonnes.
Mais faut expliquer alors pourquoi du IDW (dont 60% des titres sont du TransfotortuIJoe!), du D.E. , etc. Parce qu'on peut retourner la question dans tous les sens, il n'y a aucun autre publisher (à part Boom peut-être?) avec un tel ratio de bons/très bons comics dans sa production... (quand à l'argument Legends of Geomancer, il serait valable si j'avais une baisse des ventes depuis. Or, non, ça n'a jamais marché. ) |

Pour le coup, il me semblait que Transformers avait bonne presse. Je ne suis pas certain que les comics Dynamite demandent un investissement particulier des lecteurs pour connaître les personnages et l'historique de l'univers en question, alors que l'univers Valiant est plus ambitieux.
Peut-être est-ce une question de comm' ? |

Il faut savoir aussi que sur les dernières années j'ai offert littéralement 2 grosses dizaines de singles Valiant à des gens qui m'avaient commandé en VPC du Image et autres indés. Ca laisse rêveur... |

Je trouve que Valiant publie des series intéressantes mais qui sont paradoxalement trop typiquement américaines, dans les designs/histoires, et donc ça passe mal ici.
Par exemple : -Faith marche bien aux USA car c'est un peu la fille lambda là-bas lors qu'ici ce n'est pas du tout le cas... - Bloodshot peut être vu comme un Terminator cheap de prime abord - etc |

Personnellement je suis client de l'univers Valiant mais lecteur VF. Alors attention analyse de comptoir (je sais pas si ça va être clair mais je tente le coup alors ne m'en veuillez pas ):
Est ce que ça ne marche pas trop en France car l'univers Valiant a le cul entre deux chaises? Je m'explique d'un coté on a les Big Two avec du superslip historique et de l'autre des maisons d'éditions avec une offre SF/Fantastique/Horreur ou avec des titres complétement barrés ou spécifiques (GI Joe vs Tarzan). Peut-être que les lecteurs VO français voient l'univers Valiant comme du sous superslip et/ou pas assez "spécifique". Pas assez classique pour le mainstream et trop classique pour les lecteurs indés. Non?

Aah, là je crois qu'il y a quelque chose, en effet...
Je dirais même que cela doit être un argument assez majoritaire... avec le fait que si plein de (très) bons scénaristes participent à Valiant, il n'y a pas de huge names (genre Moore Ellis etc...), qui font toujours venir des lecteurs. |
